There are 3 main datasets available from the Detroit ROCS study.
- ROCS Cohort. Patients eligible to participate in the Detroit ROCS study are African American adults who reside in Metropolitan Detroit (Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb counties) and have received a first primary diagnosis of cancer since January 2013. 5,069 cancer survivors were enrolled in the study.
- Caregiver Cohort. Patients who complete the Detroit ROCS survey are asked to nominate a caregiver to participate in the study. Caregivers are asked to complete an annual survey to evaluate social support determinants of patient outcomes. 1,056 caregivers were enrolled in the study.
- ROCS Pilot. One thousand patients were recruited to the Detroit ROCS Pilot. Eligible patients were African America or Non-Hispanic White and seen at the Karmanos Cancer Institute (KCI) in Detroit, MI for a first primary diagnosis of breast, prostate, lung or colorectal cancer interviewed in the years 2015-2017. Enrollment data for 1,000 patients is available, as well as follow-up data.
